HOME 1/72 SCALE

My main personal interest is the campaign on the eastern front, you will find this section to be the most regulary updated. As it is quite difficult to identify every vehicle correctly, I would appreciate any help in this.

  1. Armoured train in combat: a German armoured train with guns trained on the enemy, Russia February 5th 1942. Image by PK. Falk

  2. German column advancing near Charkow : an armoured German column with tanks and motorcycles near Charkow May 20th 1942. Image taken by PK. Fink

  3. Between Donjets and Don: a German armoured column in the cornfields, July 20th 1942. Visible are a Panzer II and several Panzer III's although obscured. Image by PK. Bauer

  4. Combat training: German soldiers training on how to destroy tanks in close combat. Nice image of an early Stug.III. The image was taken on May 12th 1942, but the Stug still appears to have it's winter camo and it looks like there is still snow on the ground. Image by PK. Knödler.

  5. Stalingrad in view: A German officer observes the outskirts of Stalingrad  (too faint to be visible on the scan, but visible on the original albeit barely). Just a 100 yards from him are several destroyed Russian T34 tanks. Image by PK. Scha.

  6. German Flak on a train: taken in the South of Russia on January 6th 1944, this image shows an 88mm gun with at least 23 victory markings on it with light 20mm Flak 38 pieces in the background. Image by PK. Dauscher

  7. Moving up front: A German MG team moving forward through the trenches to take up a new fighting position.. Just behind them two abandoned KV 1 tanks. Image taken December 15th 1942 by PK Kraayvanger.

  8. Tank cemetry! The remains of Russian tanks collected by the Germans. The two tanks in the foreground have a curious construction on top, seemingly from a rocketlauncher  or so.  Image by PK Hahn, taken June 18th 1942.

  9. 75mm Panzerjägerkanone 97/38: not a very common bird, this French 75mm gun mated to a Pak 38 chassis. Funny thing bout the image is that I never knew the Germans wore shorts in Russia. Image taken on October 3rd 1943 by PK Rumbacher.

  10. Rivercrossing 1941  Gruppe Guderian: vehicles visible: Sdkfz. 7, Krupp Protze + several trucks.

  11. Knocked out KV 2 near Ostrow 1941.  Interesting is the German cross painted on the turret whilst the tank seems freshly abandoned.

  12. Accident on the road to Minsk

  13. Stuck in the mud 1: On the road to Werejtenowo (?) dated May 31st 1942. A Henschel Type 33 and what appears to be a Mercedes G3 truck. Does anyone recognize the car?

  14. Stuck in the mud 2: same location, different angle

  15. Train full of equiment moving from Gomel to ? (Subronoka or something). Dated August 21st 1943. Some interesting camouflage to be seen here.

  16. Onward to Moscow: a column of Skoda 35t tanks and Sdkfz. 253 armored observation vehicle. Summer 1941

  17. Destroyed T35, February-April 1939 production, abandoned in Zloczov July 1941. The same tank can also be seen in the Ledwoch Militaria publication 159. Another view of the rear of the tank.

  18. Sebastopol!

  19. Eastern Karelia 1941: destroyed Russian artillery tractors and BA-6 armored car. Image made by German war correspondent PK Krumme on 25-09-1941. Some interesting details to be seen: storage of the chain sets on the BA-6 and a not so often seen M30 122 mm field gun.

  20. 24th Panzer Division on the road to Stalingrad: taken by PK Dieck on 11-09-1942. Visible are several Panzer III tanks, an Sdkfz 251/1 Ausf.C on the foreground, two Sdkfz 250 's on the background as well as a Panzer II far off.

More images will be added as I get them and have time to scan them.
